Nominations Open For 2018 Gold Coast Music Awards

Amy Shark was the Artist and Song of the Year winner at the 2017 Gold Coast Music Awards.

2018 will mark the fourth instalment of the Gold Coast Music Awards and nominations are now open.


With the Awards to be held 3 May, Bobby Alu will headline the free, live outdoor concert held on Surfers Paradise Beachfront. He'll be joined by other performers Hussy Hicks, Electrik Lemonade and Eliza and the Delusionals (click here to read our August 2017 interview with Eliza).


The 2018 Awards will also feature a new category with Live Act of the Year added to the mix. While the esteemed panel of independent judges will name the region’s best talents and achievements in the categories: Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, Breakout Artist of the Year, Event of the Year, Live Act of the Year, Song of the Year, Venue of the Year and Video of the Year.

"The Gold Coast Music Awards continues to attract national attention to the City’s burgeoning music scene, celebrating local artists’ outstanding successes in the past year through an exciting, respected industry awards night," Gold Coast Music Awards director Samantha Morris says.

Gold Coast Music Awards and Surfers Paradise Alliance have also secured their partnership for the next five years, which will see the VIP red carpet awards night take place on the golden sands of Surfers Paradise beach as part of Surfers Paradise LIVE (3-6 May 2018), a free music festival featuring some of Australia’s all-time greats including Daryl Braithwaite, Jon Stevens and Kate Ceberano.

The 2018 Gold Coast Music Awards take place at Surfers Paradise Beachfront 3 May. The Awards will be followed by the free, outdoor concert headlined by Bobby Alu.
