Winners of the six new NME Awards Australian categories include Tame Impala and Stella Donnelly.
This is the first time the NME Awards has included categories to specifically recognise the Australian music industry since their inception in 1953.
The iconic, once-Brit publication was bought by Singapore interest BandLab Technologies in 2019.

NME's print launch was announced just days from the announcement of the re-launch of the Australian print edition of Rolling Stone magazine.
Tame Impala – who revealed their largest Australian tour to date earlier today – came out on top, scoring two awards: Best Australian Band and Best Australian Song for orderline, released in April last year.
Three indie acts scooped up the rest of the artist awards, with Mallrat named as Best Australian Solo Act.
There could only be one best new act: Tones & I also hitting #2 on Channel V's Top 50 Anthems of The Last 20 Years.
Stella Donnelly bagged Best Australian Album for her brilliant 2019 release, 'Beware Of The Dogs'.
Best Australian Album Winner Stella Donnelly, has been nominated for Best Album in the world, while Amyl and the Sniffers are up for Best Live Act.
