Nine Lives: Jet Black Cat Music Celebrate 9th Birthday With New Music Festival

Julia Jacklin helps headline the inaugural Nine Lives Festival in Brisbane next March.

Brisbane record store celebrates its ninth birthday by hosting the inaugural Nine Lives Festival, touted as a 'very Brissy block party'.

The one-day three-stage event takes place indoors and outdoors at The Tivoli Theatre, featuring a line-up of local, national and international talent headlined by New Zealand's Aldous Harding as well as Angie McMahon and Julia Jacklin.

Also onboard for the festivities are US acts Allah-Las and Kevin Morby, Japan's Kikagaku Moyo and our very own Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever.

Additionally, Nine Lives has invited a bunch of the best up-and-coming acts from across the nation including Buttercats, Desmond Cheese, Elder, First Beige, Handsome, Jim Griffin, Nice Biscuit, Pink Matter, Moreton, Sycco and DJ Heartbeats.

The music will take place across three stages. Indoors will be the gorgeous main theatre inside The Tivoli as well as the very special Double Dingo stage in the What’s Golden room, devoted entirely to showcasing female and gender non-conforming artists.

Outdoors will be an open-air stage in the carpark as well as a summertime bazaar of food-trucks, sausage sizzles, record crates, market stalls and activities for one and all.

The invitation extends to four-legged friends too, with Nine Lives making available a very limited amount of Doggie Tickets so that a handful of quick punters can bring along their favourite pooches.
