Siberian born DJ/ producer Nina Kraviz has been the talk of the techno and house community.
Not only has she proven herself worthy of success in a male-dominated profession, but she has already, only after two years of spinning, built a respected name for herself amongst DJs around the globe.
Nina began producing music in 2008 and dropped her debut release, 'Voices', in 2009. The release gave way to gigs in Moscow clubs and bars. Her breakthrough hit 'Pain In The Ass', released 2009 on Rekids, got her gigs around the globe and by the end of 2010 she could confidently say she had played the major clubs worldwide. She now runs the Friday night party at the famous Moscow club, Propaganda.
Nina, like many other female DJs, has tried to escape being sexualised for simply happening to be female. She is tired of the topic "females in the industry" and makes sure to address it every now and so often on her Facebook page by writing statements like “sexism and similar bullsh*t must die.”
Nina Kraviz will play Brown Alley Friday May 3.
