Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Concert series Night At The Barracks at North Head Sanctuary in Manly, is celebrating its third year with a line-up of Australian superstars and special live shows this September-October.

Kicking off the first night is legendary rock band Icehouse, led by Iva Davies – with hits like ‘We Can Get Together’, ‘Electric Blue’, ‘Hey, Little Girl’, and most appropriately ‘Great Southern Land’ set for a showcase under the Manly stars, it’s sure to be an unforgettable opening evening.

Then, revered singer-songwriter Pete Murray takes to the stage on night two with his band. An artist who has sold more than 1.2 million records throughout his career. Then, rounding out the first weekend is Gospo Collective, showing off their repertoire of Whitney Houston and the Jackson siblings.

The second weekend begins with Birds Of Tokyo, who have swept all before them since the massive impact of ‘Lanterns’ back in 2013. On Saturday night, superstar vocalist Jon Stevens pays tributes to legendary bands with ‘The Noiseworks & INXS Collection’. Sunday sees supergroup Australian Rock Collective (featuring members of Spiderbait, Powderfinger, The Wrights and You Am I) performing the ‘Best Of ARC’, with two sets of their favourite hits.

Week three takes things up a notch as the first ever unseated Barracks show presents The Presets and Bag Raiders. New Zealand pop rock superstars Six60 hit the stage on the Saturday night, and concluding that weekend is ‘Taylor Made’, a tribute to Taylor Swift featuring vocals from Clare Bowditch, Alex the Astronaut, Clementine Ford, Charley, Emily Wurramurra and Lucy Durack.

Three compelling Australian acts hit the stage for the final weekend – first up being singer-songwriter Matt Corby and his band, in a live show. Then, Australia’s sweetheart, dynamic pop superstar Jessica Mauboy. Jessica presented one of the most memorable performances at the very first Night At The Barracks in 2022. Closing the event is singer and guitarist extraordinaire Xavier Rudd, playing tracks new and old.

“We are delighted to see Night At The Barracks return for another year. This wonderful event deserves its success, supporting local businesses and providing entertainment in an iconic location on the Beaches,” Northern Beaches Mayor Sue Heins says. “I look forward to seeing our community share in the many wonderful performances by world-class musicians, with family, friends, neighbours and visitors this September and October – a great night for all.”

Tickets are on sale now.
