Last year during his Australian tour, ex-Kyuss, QOSTA bassist Nick Oliveri spent time in a Melbourne studio with cosmic psych rockers The Black Armada.
Nothing more happened till the COVID troll threw its dummy out of the pram, allowing Nick and The Black Armada the time to revisit the original recordings from the Hothouse Studio session.
Soon audio files were zinging back and forth across the Pacific between the Queensland rockers and one of the instigators of the stoner rock movement, eventuating in their debut single 'Up & Down Under'.
A tale of Jekyll and Hyde amid a sea of thick riffage, 'Up & Down Under' is the first, crunchy taste of a burgeoning creative partnership that will see Nick and The Black Armada hook up for a European tour when international travel resumes.
"This is pretty much a pinch-yourself moment," Christian Tryhorn, The Black Armada's guitarist says.
"The track is super fat. A big honour to work with one of my all time, favourite bass players. We're working on more material; an overseas tour once COVID releases its jaws is going to be super epic."
