Oasis fans will be salivating at the news the group's forthcoming feature-length documentary, 'Oasis Knebworth 1996', will receive a worldwide cinema release (23 September) marking the 25th anniversary of the famous concert.

Reportedly the largest concert staged during the '90s, the Knebworth film is told via the fans who attended alongside extensive and never before seen archive concert and backstage footage from the event, as well as new interviews with the band and concert organisers.

"Knebworth for me was the Woodstock of the '90s. It was all about the music and the people. I can't remember much about it, but I'll never forget it. It was biblical," offers Liam Gallagher.

While Noel Gallagher adds: "I can't believe we never played 'Rock 'n' Roll Star'!"

A concert that was staged as Britain was emerging from a decade-long recession, Oasis embodied the new found optimism and swagger of the Cool Britannia movement – and fans were eager to embrace the five lads on stage who made everything seem possible (again).

Tickets to 'Oasis Knebworth 1996' – that is directed by Grammy Award-winner Jake Scott – go on sale 10 August. More information.
