Platinum-selling English singer-songwriter, Ellie Goulding has unveiled her new single 'Sixteen'.
Co-written by Ellie with Raye and FRED (George Ezra, Clean Bandit), 'Sixteen' is a nostalgic slice of contemplative pop where Ellie reminisces about her youth as a rebellious teenager.
The new earworm, which has been produced by Ian Kirkpatrick (Britney Spears, Julia Michaels), FRED and Mike Wise features Ellie’s distinctive vocals climb over a catchy, propulsive beat. “I’m so excited to share 'Sixteen' with everyone," Ellie says.
"That age was such a pivotal year for me in many ways and this song is so close to my heart. It takes me back to the reckless days of being a teenager and I hope it reminds us all about the innocence of youth.”
The artwork for 'Sixteen' features a host of Ellie's mates, who she asked to send her an image of when they were 16. Sweet idea Ellie.
'Sixteen' follows on from her previous release 'Close To Me', which was certified Platinum in Australia. Ellie also recently announced her involvement in Netflix’s new nature documentary series 'Our Planet' with Sir David Attenborough.
