New Boutique Music Festival Round And Round Arrives In Adelaide

L-R top to bottom: Leah Senior, Placement, Porpoise Spit and Coldwave

Local record label, live events collective P.A.K Records will invigorate the Adelaide underground scene this winter with the inaugural Round And Round music festival.

Set to offer five hours of non-stop music across two stages alongside live visuals, DJs and an exclusive P.A.K Records pop-up store at Rhino Room and Low Life Basement Bar on 10 August, Round And Round will be headlined by Leah Senior ('Graves', 'Evergreen'), in her first Adelaide show in five years.

The indie folk, alternative singer-songwriter, who is about to depart for a month-long US tour that includes a support of The Teskey Brothers at The Fillmore Detroit, blends fragile bedroom folk with '60s R&B flavoured pop. Her most recent album, 2023's 'The Music That I Make', was nominated of Best Blues and Roots Album/ EP at 2024 AIR Awards.

Set to join Senior on the Round And Round bill are Melbourne raucous yet emotive indie punks Porpoise Spit, who are building a solid live reputation thanks to such cuts as 'People Like Me', 'Outbacks And Oceans' and 'Karl Stefanovic At The Logies Drunk' that have led to supporting the likes of Cash Savage, Cable Ties and Press Club.

Locals Placement ('Lost Sun', 'Harder') will headline the Low Life Stage. With a penchant for grimy '90s bands and humming guitars that fuse post-punk and noise-rock with upbeat, bright melodies, Placement have already shared stages with RVG, Press Club, Bad//Dreems and The Smith Street Band the last six months ahead of supporting DZ Deathrays next month.

"We're heading west to Radelaide and probably going to pitch to some of the best bands in Australia a situation where we all join together like a mighty morphing Power Ranger," shares Porpoise Spit. "Get tickets; gonna be sick!"

Adds Placement: "Can't wait for this winter festival extravaganza thanks to the excellent folks at PAK Records! Across two stages and featuring so many excellent bands; grab a ticket immediately for a guaranteed good time!"

In addition, the line-up will also feature P.A.K's own post-punkers Coldwave (set to support Pond this month) – known for their buzz-saw twin guitars, booming horns and high-octane live set – plus local heavyweights Swapmeet, The Munch, Kurralta Park and War Room, with DJ XXXquisite plus live visuals by Ryan Sahb.
