After the success of its inaugural run this year – including a sold-out Melbourne event – New Bloom Fest returns in 2025 offering hardcore and alternative fans a curated festival of some of the most blistering and devastating acts in the scene.
Set to again bolt down in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in early March, New Bloom Fest will be led by post-hardcore, soft grunge stalwarts Basement ('Covet'), the Suffolk natives recently headlining Outbreak Fest 2024 while also selling out the iconic Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles (3,000 tickets).They'll be joined by the hypnotic alternative rock of Pennsylvania slayers Balance and Composure ('Tiny Raindrop') who just released their impressive fourth studio album 'With You In Spirit' with industry legend Will Yip after a four-year hiatus.
Santa Cruz hardcore punks Drain will also inject New Bloom with a frantic thrashing energy, the band seen by many as paramount to the resurgence of American hardcore in the '20s. Their most recent album, 2023's 'Living Proof' continuing their petulant hardcore with such cuts as 'Good Good Things' and 'Evil Finds Light'.
Melodic indie heavy hitters One Step Closer will also journey to Australia for New Bloom, the Pennsylvania hardcore natives blending emo and '90s alternative with a limitless mindset as showcased on their 2024 LP belter 'All You Embrace' featuring the tracks 'Giant's Despair' and 'Leap Years'.
New Bloom '25 will also witness Australian live debuts from Philadelphia via New Jersey eruptive emo-pop hardcore mavericks Sweet Pill ('Cut', 'Blood'), and Washington post-hardcore bohemians Glitterer ('Are You Sure?', 'The Race').
