Brisbane experienced a little slice of heaven last weekend (Sat 29 Nov) as the Natural NZ Music Festival exploded onto Riverstage, showcasing some of the best artists on offer from across the ditch.

Featuring NZ music legend Dave Dobbyn, rock powerhouse Shapeshifter, reggae-funk outfit The Black Seeds, roots-reggae heavy weights House Of Shem and Sons Of Zion, hip hop masters Scribe and P-Money, as well as pop-rock songstress Anika Moa, the festival offered a little something for everyone.

With primo-as weather, the vibe at Natural was buzzing and continued to build as the crowd grew thicker and the acts kept on rolling in.

Anika Moa officially kicked off the festival line-up with her sweet, yet earthy voice, followed by Sons Of Zion representing the first of the reggae outfits for the evening. The boys of SOZ were in top form, warming the crowd with favourites ‘Superman’, ‘Good Love’ and ‘Tell Her’.

Next up was P-Money who took the Natural vibe to another level, mixing delicious beats from old school Dr Dre to the naughties, Harlem Shake. This was the perfect lead in to NZ hip hop heavyweight Scribe, who demanded the crowd’s attention with his high-energy performance and fist-pumping antics.

While all acts were awesome, the standout favourites were undeniably the final four acts of the festival: House Of Shem, Dave Dobbyn, The Black Seeds and Shapeshifter, who all in their own unique way managed to get everyone up on their feet, crooning to songs, old and new.
