Calling all buskers and street performers from the Sunshine Coast and surrounding areas, your time to shine has arrived with NamJam.
NamJam is a busking and street performance competition held annually in Nambour and showcases the immense breadth of talent on display across the Sunshine Coast region.
Now in its second year, NamJam is proudly supported by the Sunshine Coast Council's grants programme, TAFE Queensland, Nambour Alliance and the local music and arts industry.
Held across Nambour's town centre, NamJam allows all to experience the creative energy and musical talent of our local entertainers. Last year's inaugural NamJam saw over 50 buskers performing in and around the Nambour Town Centre, and attracted attendees from Brisbane through to Gympie for the day.
Competing artists will be in the running for cash prizes thanks to the Sunshine Coast Council, a chance to be onstage at the 2019 Big Pineapple Music Festival plus general admission and camping tickets for the runners-up.
There's also an exciting surprise in-store from clothing line Racy & Lucky for the winner of the NamJam #womeninmusic prize.
As well, Shadowplay Photography, Hostile Entertainment, TURN UP, JF Records and Prysim Music are giving away some amazing professional development opportunities, plus an off-the-chart EPK (electronic press kit) for emerging artists. Among other great prizes, there are also paid gigs from Mute Music Management.
If nothing else, NamJam offers all entrants the opportunity to show off what they do best, expose their talent and build their career profiles as emerging musicians, artists and performers.
For everyone else, it's a day of free, family-friendly fun filled with live music, groovy vibes and a guaranteed good time.
