Powderfinger are reforming for a one-off virtual concert.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Aussie legends Powderfinger will bring a little happiness to fans, with news the band are tuning up for an exclusive performance from their respective studios titled One Night Lonely.

A decade since they said good bye to fans on the Sunsets Farewell Tour, Bernard, Ian, Darren, John and Jon will reform for a special one-off concert that will be streamed on the group's YouTube channel on 23 May.

"The five of us have been meeting regularly over the past few months to organise some 'Odyssey Number 5' anniversary releases," the band says.

"The idea came up of playing together again in this unusual format, which we all thought would be fun.

"The past, few months has been a very strange time for us all and difficult days for many.

"We really just want to bring a smile to some people's faces and along the way raise some funds to help our music industry mates and people who are currently experiencing mental health issues."

With a medley of their biggest hits promised, the band continue their support of music industry charities Beyond Blue and Support Act, with the title of One Night Lonely a subtle hint.

One Night Lonely will be streamed exclusively on Powderfinger's YouTube channel on 23 May at 7pm EST.
