In these unique times, we are all looking for ways to break the boredom of isolation.
So to Music SA we say well played 'cause they have partnered with a local illustrator to create a unique, once-off 'Where's Wally'-styled illustration of South Australian bands.Owen Lindsay, who has been an illustrator for 15 years, has squeezed 90 bands (yes, 9-0) into the imaginative poster; the acts are hidden behind cheeky puns and literal, descriptive characters.
The best part for those playing at home? The top ten entrants with the highest number of correct guesses will receive a signed, block-mount of this incredible poster. Scroll down to enter.
"Over the years, I've done album covers and gig posters for a few, local bands, as well drawing 'illos' for several Adelaide magazines, including CityMag," Owen says.
"This big, crazy illustration was a lot of fun to do, particularly coming up with some of the more convoluted references."
The illustration also includes references to live venues and iconic landmarks, Owen capturing the life-blood of the local, live music scene beautifully.
"We thought this would be a great opportunity to entertain folk at home who are currently self-isolating, as well as keeping SA music in the forefront of everyone's mind," Music SA CEO, Lisa Bishop says.
"The collaboration with Owen has also been important, as visual artists and graphic designers all play an important role in the live music scene with poster designs, album covers, and branding; it's all very relevant to putting on gigs in Adelaide."
Winners will be announced after 1 June.
