Music, Peace And Action At Playing For Change Day

Playing For Change Day
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

One world, one voice, one day.

Celebrating the fourth annual Playing For Change Day on Saturday the 20th, leading local musicians and supporters will gather on and around stages, street corners and schools in Bondi to promote peace and social change around the globe. Raising money for the Playing For Change Foundation, this year will see thousands of volunteers at more than 300 events in 56 different countries taking action for a brighter future.

The global movement that brings inspiration and hope to underprivileged children around the world uses the power of music to educate people and promote change. Since 2002, Playing For Change has recorded over 500 musicians in 45 countries to create the 'Songs Around The World' albums.

From streets musicians to big name acts like Keith Richards, Bono, Adam Levine, Sarah Bareille and others, the message to inspire, connect and raise awareness is a common belief. Using peace through music, the Playing For Change Foundation has created nine music schools and programs in Ghana, Mali, Rwanda, South Africa, Nepal and Thailand. Aiming to raise $200,000 this year, over $35,000 has already been donated.

Playing For Change Day will be held at the Bondi Farmers Markets and Bondi Beach Public School on Saturday the 20th September.
