Melbourne Music Week (MMW) 2013 will showcase the city's brightest stars of music and film, as they collide in a series of informative and thought-provoking exhibitions and live performances.

Diversity is the name of the game, with a program that offers a little something for every taste. To explore the relationship between music and film, the event will highlight MMW's core philosophy of celebrating uniquely Melbourne locations and the city's iconic musical talent.

Amongst the highlights will be local heroes Naysayer & Gilsun, who have been specially commissioned to reinvent their hugely popular audio-visual NGTV project to create a completely original hour long performance of mostly unreleased music that can be likened to a rave in a cinema.

Multi-award winning artist (I don't know... you might have heard of him) Gotye will delve into the creative process behind his unique video clips in a very special event titled 'Gotye and his Collaborators'.

Movie and music lovers alike will have the opportunity to view film screenings that explore the lives of musicians, what inspired them and what led to their demise in a series titled 'Fragile Lives and Beautiful Losers', showcasing rarely screened films that provide an extroadinary glimpse into the lives of artists who created unique sounds.

There's a host of other events to get get involved in. Running from November 15-24, the program will be presented in collaboration with the Australian Centre for Moving Image (ACMI), Rooftop Cinema, RMIT Gallery and Australian Centre for Contemporary Art.
