Moshtix insist that the credit card information of Splendour In The Grass ticket buyers is safe, after chaos erupted on their website this morning.
A Moshtix statement reads as follows: "In response to speculation regarding unauthorised / illegal access of personal information during this morning's Splendour In The Grass on sale, we can confirm that no credit card information has been compromised during the technical issues experienced this morning. Anyone that is concerned they have been charged the incorrect amounts should contact moshtix at ticketsupport.moshtix.com.au."
Eager Splendour punters were faced with bizarre and "invalid" 50 per cent discounted prices, before being charged with excess credit card fees in the thousands of dollars. While Moshtix have put the problems down to "technical issues", there is rampant speculation that the site was hacked. The Splendour event details on the Moshtix site this morning linked to illicit drug website Silk Road.
All of the affected orders will be cancelled today, and customers will be contacted and given a chance to purchase tickets at the correct prices. For more info and support, head to ticketsupport.moshtix.com.au.
On the plus side (if you're an organiser of the festival), all tickets for this year's Splendour In The Grass have sold out. There's some life in this whole 'festival' thing yet.
