Celebrating its 28th year, Bluesfest present another glorious round of shows before and after the festival which have become as legendary and popular as the festival itself.

The Alabama sextet set souls on fire at the 2016 festival with their blistering horn-driven sound and vocalist Paul Janeway's powerful voice and lyricism.Blending slow '60s soul with modern influences such as Sly Stone and Prince , St Paul & the Broken Bones present a frenzied, high-energy set punctuated by Paul's vocal mastery and on-stage theatrics.

Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue
Brass prodigy and New Orleans native Trombone Shorty began his career as a bandleader at the tender age of six, and by the time he was a teenager had toured the world with countless bands and even Lenny Kravitz.His 2010 debut album 'Backatown' was nominated for a Grammy and his latest album 'Say That To Say This', released in 2013, features jazz and funk elements from his hometown.
Now leader of his own band, Orleans Avenue, Trombone Shorty is set to blow up stages with his brassy funk/rock/jazz/hip hop blend.

Roy Ayers
Vibraphonist and vocalist Roy Ayers is ubiquitous to the funk and soul genres. Known as the Godfather Of Neo-Soul, he produced classic tracks such as 'Everybody Loves The Sunshine', which has been sampled by modern R&B artists like Mary J. Blige and Mos Def.He produced the iconic soundtrack for the 1973 Blaxploitation film 'Coffy' and also performed on Whitney Houston's 1988 hit, 'Love Will Save The Day'.

Canadian alt. country/indie rocker The Strumbellas celebrate their Bluesfest 2017 debut with two sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne.They released their debut album 'My Father And The Hunter' in 2012, followed in quick succession by 'We Still Move On Dance Floors' a year later.
