Another 14 artists and bands have been added to the 2017 Dashville Skyline line-up including rising superstar and Tennessee local Valerie June, ARIA award-winning band Oh Mercy and one of Ireland’s greatest singer-songwriters, Declan O’Rourke.
The final portion of artists heading to Dashville's hallowed, bushland home in the Hunter Valley, NSW, this October Long Weekend (29 September through to 1 October) includes emerging rock ‘n’ blues superstars The Teskey Brothers, Brisbane folk rocker Paddy McHugh, Sydney-based Americana specialists Fallon Cush, Melbourne songwriters Lucie Thorne and Matt Walker, Nevada native Jen Mize, Melbourne country act Georgia State Line and handpicked locals Magpie Diaries, Ben Leece, Lyle Dennis Express, Nicholas Conners, Demi Mitchell and the formidable family force of the Dashville Progress Society.

Valerie June has been on a steep trajectory upwards since the release of her second record, 'The Order Of Time', in March this year. With her stellar live band in tow (featuring members of Old Crow Medicine Show) this is a chance to see a future megastar in an intimate setting.

Led by enigmatic songsmith Alexander Gow, the dreamy country-tinged pop of Oh Mercy will end their live hiatus (12 months) to make their Dashville debut. With new single ‘Gonna Go Live On Mars’ a taste of things to come, expect new album news from these guys soon. Cut from the same cloth as The Go-Betweens, The Triffids, The Sleepy Jackson and Dan Kelly.

Irishman Declan O'Rourke spent eight years of his youth in Australia. At 13, a priest in Kyabram (regional Victoria) gave him his first guitar. A prolific writer and storyteller, his latest song-cycle entitled 'Chronicles Of The Great Irish Famine' will be launched in November.

The festival’s name derives from that of Bob Dylan’s 1968 release Nashville Skyline, which lends an impression of the vibe of this festival. It’s a celebration of alternative country, its birth in America during the ‘60s-‘70s, the culture that surrounds the music and the evolution that continues to inspire modern day songwriters.
As such, one of the main spectacles of the festival is the immensely popular Sunset Super Round. Each year artists on the bill step on to the main stage, often as a collaboration, to pay homage to their favourite songs of the “golden era”.

Held at the same location as The Gum Ball, Dashville Skyline provides an amazing experience for music lovers and has earned quite the name over the last few years as the ultimate weekend escape, full of laidback country music, bush camping and family fun.
