Canterbury (Kent, England) quartet Moose Blood will tour Australia this September off the back of their latest album, 'I Don't Think I Can Do This Anymore'.
Released at the beginning of March, 'I Don't Think I Can Do This Anymore' is the third studio album from Moose Blood and lead guitarist Mark E. Osborne says it is their most personal and emotionally complex record yet.
“After writing it we felt that we had literally done everything we could have done in making that record,” Mark explains.
“It addressed a lot of topics and stuff that we had been through in our personal lives that we hadn't really touched on before and new experiences and things that had happened since [2016 sophomore album] 'Blush' that we really wanted to write about and get out of our systems.
"We were so proud and felt like we really achieved something on this record, so to get it out was really exciting.”
“We all feel Australia is one of the best places in the world... So the fact we get to come back again is awesome.”
Since their introduction in 2012, Moose Blood have proudly worn their hearts on their songwriting sleeves to produce emotionally-driven songs of life, love and loss.
“Regardless of how much we put into an album, the subjects you write about or how personal that record is, it's always nerve-racking putting a record out because you feel you're completely exposed, to be honest, because the way we write anyway, especially lyrically, we've always gone really personal in our content,” Mark says.
“We write about pretty much our lives and experiences because we don't know what else to write about,” he laughs.
“We feel like when you really put yourself into a record and into songs that people can listen to and judge and either say it's a load of sh.t or [they] love it, is really nerve-racking because like I was saying you're putting yourself out there for it to be judged and, especially when it's so personal, when people don't like it you take it very personally.”
Moose Blood bring their 'I Don't Think I Can Do This Anymore' album tour to Australia from the end of August, playing nationally into September.
It will be their third visit to the country and for Mark and his bandmates, the very fact their music has reached Australia makes all the hard work and heartbreak worthwhile.
“We never thought it would be something we'd ever get the chance to do: to take our music to Australia, to take us to the other side of the world,” he says.
“The furthest we can be away from home is Australia, so to be able to be coming back for the third time off the back of making music is really mind-blowing; it's very humbling and it's very surreal so we can't believe it's happened to us.
“I think we all feel Australia is one of the best places in the world. We've met incredible people in Australia and have been to incredible places, so the fact we get to come back again is awesome, we're really looking forward to it.”
