The seventh edition of Brisbane's boutique event Mojo Burning will feature international psych heavyweights, German fuzz kings and a whole swag of domestic delights in its guitar-driven 2020 line-up.
The first line-up for Mojo Burning 2020 is led by UK psych rockers Temples as well as Germany's Kadavar in their only Queensland performance. Also on-board in round one is Australian troubadour Steve Smyth, Hobo Magic, Battlesnake, The Black Armada, Rick Dangerous, Boing Boing and Marshall Okell, with more to be announced in the coming months.
Moving to the Fortitude Valley precinct to get right among the action after a previous sold-out event, Mojo Burning will move to the newly renovated and increased capacity Woolly Mammoth and Ivory Tusk, bringing thirty acts together over three stages in a themed display of Australian and international talent over one large and affordable day.
Mojo Burning organiser Christian Tryhorn says the 2020 instalment will be the biggest yet for the festival. “It's the first time we've had two headline internationals and [it's] a great sign of things to come for the festival,” Christian says.
“We spend quite some time hand-picking every act on the line-up and put a lot of effort into venue theming to make the experience a mind-blowing one for everyone.”
With truly mind-blowing line-ups each year, Mojo Burning aims to provide a positive cultural force, uniting genre acts who independently and without mainstream help achieve success through working hard, touring hard and playing hard.
Mojo Burning 2020 is on at Woolly Mammoth and Ivory Tusk (Brisbane) 28 March. Click here for more information.
