Christchurch country singer-songwriter Miranda Easten has released her new single ‘View From Here’.

Miranda burst into the solo music scene in 2019, and recorded her debut album ‘Behind Unbroken Strings’ at Roundhead Studios in Auckland, with the help of world-renowned producer Greg Haver.

Early last year she released ‘Country Boy’, a track which rose to #25 on the Australian charts. Also in 2021, Miranda became the host of NZ weekly live radio show ‘Plains Country’.

Now, Miranda presents ‘View From Here’, a whimsical, airy piece of music filled with heart and hope.

The track was recorded at Neil Finn’s Roundhead Studios in Auckland, with mixing by Clint Murphy in the UK and mastering by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound in Nashville.

Miranda wrote the track in a session with Somin Oscroft and Henry Beasley, and it’s inspired by living in the moment with the people you love, and enjoying life as it is, without projecting into the future during uncertain times.

"Take me to the mountain, open up that beer. I wanna see the city lights before they disappear," Miranda sings on the track. "I don't know what the future holds, but I like the view from here."

Meanwhile, the music video was shot in autumn at the Queenstown-Lakes district in New Zealand. The goal was to capture the region’s famous orange and yellow colours, as Miranda drives a vintage convertible through stunning alpine scenery.

Miranda describes the song – and video – as a fun project. After several COVID lockdown-related delays, she’s excited to be sharing the finished products to the world, hoping that viewers and listeners find them relatable and enjoyable.

'View From Here' is out now.
