To celebrate the 15th anniversary of her ARIA Award-winning album 'Parking Lots' (Best Blues & Roots Album), Australian singer-songwriter, guitarist Mia Dyson will release a special EP titled 'Parking Lots (Revisited)'.
Set to feature five tracks from the 'Parking Lots' record, each song has been stripped to their core and dressed again, with new arrangements, special guest appearances and additional nuances.'Parking Lots (Revisited)' EP (available from 4 December on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music) will also coincide with the re-release of the original 'Parking Lots' album on white vinyl.
"Some friends and I used to perform in a women's prison in Western Melbourne," begins Mia. "I got to know a few women quite well and over time they shared their stories with me.
"I wrote 'Roll Me Out' thinking of the story of one woman in particular who had been incarcerated and then fell in love with another prisoner,” Mia says about the first track from 'Parking Lots'.
The inaugural recipient of Double J's Artist Of The Year at the 2014 J Awards, Mia will undertake an east-coast tour of Australia in March that finishes up at 2021 Bluesfest.
With dates in Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne, regional Victoria, Brisbane and Byron Bay, these will be Mia's first live shows in 12 months. Tickets are on sale now.
