‘Update - 28 September, 2019: Metallica’s 2019 Australia tour will not go ahead. The Metallica tour cancellation was announced by promoters Live Nation, which released a statement saying: "We are working with Metallica to secure a new tour period and will make a further announcement as soon as possible." The band has revealed James Hetfield has entered rehab.
Arguably the biggest name in global metal, Metallica are headed down under for a 2019 spring national stadium tour that will visit Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Added bonus is the news Slipknot will accompany James, Lars, Kirk and Robert to Australia in October as part of the WorldWired Tour.
This is the first time Metallica will tour a stadium show in Australia. Praise the metal gods.
