The Josh Pyke Partnership has announced the winner for 2017, talented singer-songwriter from Melbourne Angie McMahon.
Made possible by APRA AMCOS, the partnership aims to connect an unsigned musician with the exciting opportunity to receive mentorship and funding that will help to grow their career. "I feel extremely lucky and very grateful to be given the opportunity to make the best debut record that I can make," Angie says.
"I'm so excited to head into the studio and I can't thank Josh, his team and APRA AMCOS enough for putting their faith and funds behind my music. This is a huge and happy kick forward. Thanks a million to this team of legends for their incredible vote of support.”

Angie will be awarded a $7,500 grant to kick-start her music career. In addition to the financial reward she will also receive valuable insight and mentorship from Josh Pyke himself and a meeting with Gregg Donovan (Wonderlick Entertainment) and Stephen Wade (Select Music).

"Interestingly enough, this was the 3rd year in a row that a woman has taken out this grant, and the split of men and women in the top 10 scorers was 50/50. The calibre of entries was really encouraging for the state of Australian music.
