Tickets go on sale today for Melbourne's contemporary music conference, Face The Music 2013, held over two days (November 15-16) at Arts Centre Melbourne.
Last year's sell-out event featured keynote speeches from AJ Maddah and Kimbra; the full line-up of 150 high profile music industry leaders for this year's event will be unveiled on September 11.
A few names have been released ahead of time, though, including Dan Rosen (ARIA), Jess Beston (Tiny Monster), entrepreneur Bruce Milne, artist Cash Savage, John Watson (Eleven / John Watson Management), Sophie Miles (Mistletone Records), Peter Karpin (Universal Music Australia), Kim Carter (Rockstar Management), Dr Ianto Ware (National Live Music Office), Darren Levin (Faster Louder/Mess + Noise), Marcus Teague (The Vine), Tim Morrison (Trial Kennedy), Nic Warnock (RIP Society / Repressed Records), Markus Popp (Oval) and Ross Knight (Cosmic Psychos).
The conference will explore new approaches to 'staple activities' like marketing and release strategies, artist management, booking gigs and recording techniques, as well as sessions on trends like the resurgence of vinyl, reality talent shows, the power of moving pictures and the algorithms of streaming.
