Melbourne DJ-producer Tyron Hapi is set to release new single ‘Anyway’ (featuring Mimoza).

“I’m really excited, it’s basically a follow-up to my last single ‘Your Fool’ featuring Mimoza. It’s probably one of my favourite tracks. It’s quite different from my dance and EDM beats, I think people will really like it,” Tyron says.

At just 19, Tyron’s growing discography of collaborations and remixes are being released on some of the world’s best known labels including Universal and Dim Mak.

Tyron is currently touring as part of a 17-date national run of shows. “I love travelling around Australia. I just got back from Ireland and Scotland, which was fun but it’s awesome to be back home playing,” he says.

“I’m going to be playing heaps of remixes and new music. I hope everyone enjoys it.”

A self-taught pianist, Tyron has been producing since the age of 14. In 2011 he was accepted into the respected Victorian College Of The Arts Secondary School on a drumming scholarship. “Growing up I was always into music.

"I actually played drums and I went to music school. However, DJ and producing never really came to mind until I was about 12-years old.”

Tyron started at the music college in grade seven and left in grade ten to pursue his own music. “I definitely learnt a lot from music school, and I took a lot away from it which is really good.

"I didn’t really appreciate it at the time, but now I kind of look back at it and go ‘yeah that’s done quite a bit for me’.”

As he builds his career, Tyron is paving a successful pathway with collaborations with some of Australia’s best-known EDM artists such as Will Sparks, Timmy Trumpet and Joel Fletcher. “I definitely look up to them, they are some of my close mates in the industry,” he says.

“They are wicked, they are absolutely smashing it and I think we work really well together.”

In his short career, Tyron has landed himself gigs throughout Australia as well as tours to New Zealand, the UK and Europe, “It’s crazy seeing other fans from the other side of the world,” he says.

“My favourite aspect about producing music? I just love every part of it. I love making people happy, but I also love making myself happy. There’s no better feeling than making something and enjoying it.”

With a sound that fuses soothing house breakdowns with melodic, catchy drops, Tyron is inspired every day by other musicians. “I think the cool thing about musicians is that everyone inspires each other.”

With no set plans, Tyron is excited to see where he ends up next. “I think that’s the best part about it, not being too sure what’s happening next,” he says.

“I’m going to continue making music and see where it takes me, I guess.”

‘Anyway’ feat. Mimoza is released 29 September.
