Megan Washington Announces Free Pop-Up Shows This Weekend

Megan Washington
National Music Editor, based in Brisbane, Australia.
'Passionate about true crime docos, the Swannies, golf and sleep, I’ve been writing about music for 20-plus years. What I’ve learnt? There’s two types of music – good and bad.’

After her recent run of sell out shows across the country in August, Megan Washington will be celebrating the release of her brand new album, ‘There There’, with a series of free pop up shows in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney this weekend.

All 14 songs on ‘There There’ are inspired by lush, new-romantic ‘80s pop and might be as infectious as ever, but lyrically stick to the truth. “I wrote all the songs I was afraid to write,” Megan says.

“I wrote about living with anxiety, bad sex, being unfaithful, how much I loved the person I was unfaithful to, waking up in hospital, the heart-cracking sadness at the end of a party, being reckless and selfish and losing my best friend. I told the truth, as best I remember.”

‘There There’ will be released this Friday 12th September.
