Set to visit Australia with Role Model on their sold out No Place Like tour this summer, American indie singer-songwriter Medium Build has added a couple of headline concerts of his own.
After opening for the likes of Lewis Capaldi and FINNEAS, the 'Be Your Boy', 'Never Learned To Dance' and 'Crying Over U' artist will perform standalone gigs in Sydney and Melbourne next February.The moniker of Nick Carpenter, Medium Build is set to release his new 'Marietta' EP next month, teasing the release with the singles 'Triple Marathon' and 'Yoke', the latter featuring boygenius' Julien Baker.
"Over the past decade, Julien and I have drifted in and out of faith and sobriety – two of the things we've always met on," shares Nick. "When I sent her this song about deconstructing my relationships with church and the people around it, I knew she would understand.
"I'd been worried about the people from my past I would offend as I heal my inner child. Julien's presence on this track feels like a friend holding your hand as you share your testimony or open up at an AA meeting."
'Marietta', named after the town outside of Atlanta, Georgia, where Carpenter grew up, follows the release of Role Model's fifth album earlier in 2024, 'Country' – which features 'Crying Over U' as well as 'In My Room', 'Knowing U Exist' and 'Cutting Thru The Country'.
