Irish singer-songwriter Maverick Sabre returns to Australia for a headline tour early 2026.
Raised on a diet of blues, folk and country as well as hip hop, Sabre has fused his own style bridging soul, R&B, reggae, dubstep and hip hop into his own soulful mix of heartfelt tones.
Across his career, Maverick has released five studio albums, his most recent being 2024's 'Burn The Right Things Down'. That record features 'Lay Down On Me', 'Roses Ether', 'You Don't Even Need It' and 'If I Could Only Love You Again'.
Best known for his 2020 banger 'Slow Down' (with Jorja Smith, who was Maverick's protege around 2014-15, the pair collaborating on numerous tracks including 'Loving You' and 'Carry Me Home'), Maverick has also featured on Hilltop Hoods tracks 'Won't Let You Down' and 'Live & Let Go' – both lifted from the 'Walking Under Stars' Hoods' album.
Back in 2016, Sabre even opened for the Hoods' 'Restrung' orchestra tour, joining the lads onstage to perform the two aforementioned songs – read our review of the Brisbane concert.
Maverick's latest release is the collab with Lila Ike, 'All That And More', that features on her new album 'Treasure Self Love'. Sabre has also collaborated with the likes of Joey Bada$$, Chronixx, Nia Archives, and Chase & Status.
With one constant creative goal with his music – to create albums that land as close to people's hearts as possible – Maverick is also a staunch activist recently supporting Kneecap's Mo Chara's court appearance after he was charged under the Terroism Act 2006 for allegedly displaying a Hezbollah flag in November 2024.
"We need to urge artists who've remained silent to be a part of this in whatever way they can, rather than waiting for an industry for validation," he said outside the courthouse to Novara Media.
"Old Tales Of Empire," Sabre posted to his Instagram mid August. "Each one connected. Same objective. Whenever you hear 'Great' or 'Greater' know it's a mirage selling you the romantic idea of greatness to distract from terror and inequality.
"Home and abroad. They will never serve the people truly. We are all Palestinians. We are all Sudanese. We are all Ukrainian. We are all the elderly unable to pay their extortionate energy bills. We are all the homeless and the vulnerable neglected by our governments year after year while money is squandered. Soon we'll be the new bogeyman to blame."
Tickets on sale from 10am (local time) on 8 September.
