Gold Coast welcomes a new haven for electronic music with the opening this weekend of new venue NXT LVL.
Located on the southern end of Cavill Avenue in Surfers Paradise, NXT LVL is a premium live music venue that will present a consistent line-up featuring the best talent from the electronic music scene both in Australia and from overseas.
NXT LVL comes to us courtesy of Mark James, previously responsible for Summafieldayze and Future Music Festival as well as the GCs newest festival Circus Paradise (staged in March this year - click here for photos from the day).
How does NXT LVL differentiate itself from other venues on the Gold Coast?
Our level of production will set a new standard for Gold Coast clubbing including a custom build Funktion One and a LED Madrix room design from Germany.
Who are some of the acts we can expect to see at NXT LVL over the coming weeks/ months?
Our opening this weekend see interstate guest Hood Rich, The Aston Shuffle and JPA. Coming over the next few weeks and months: Riton (UK), Andy Murphy, Wongo, Airwolf, Colour Castle, Weiss (UK), Noizu (UK), Green Velvet (USA) and Noir, just to name few.
Paint a word picture, if you will, describing the aesthetics and décor of the club?
Next Level prides itself as a quality music club; think Ibiza, Germany, Miami. Our music policy takes in facets of house to techno.
What are your plans over the next six months for developing NXT LVL and its presence on the Gold Coast?
We feel we have already presented ourselves well on the Gold Coast and Brisbane; we are now marketing to down south regions and promoting NXT LVL as a venue to enjoy and hear great music if holidaying on the Gold Coast.
When we chatted to you earlier in the year (re: Circus Paradise Festival) you mentioned you'd been spending time in the studio; any updates on that front?
I've been working on a new album with new single 'Come Into My Mind' coming out on Hot Sunday the first week of November.
NXT LVL (Gold Coast) hold their launch weekend 20-22 September with headliners Hood Rich (Friday), The Aston Shuffle (Saturday) and JPA (Sunday).
