Manifest Adds More Acts To Its 2016 Line-up

'Passionate about true crime docos, the Swannies, golf and sleep, I’ve been writing about music for 20-plus years. What I’ve learnt? There’s two types of music – good and bad.’

Kiss goodbye to winter and welcome summer under the stars when Manifest returns next month.

The three-day event (23-25 September) at Cherrabah Resort in South-East Queensland will host more than 100 international and Australian artists. The newest arrivals on the bill include the Australian premiere of ISM, a new live project from celebrated New Zealand bass producer Harry Bretherton (Organikismness/ Soulware); the intricate progressive techno and house of Canberra’s Doppel; the upfront dub/ reggae vibes of Melbourne’s Mista Savona and the eclectic fusion of music and cuisine that is New Zealand’s Soundfood.

They join an already epic list including Blockhead, Ed Solo, DJ Total Eclipse, Astronomy Class, Mantra featuring DJ Flagrant, Jamie McDowell & Tom Thum, Tribone, Spacey Koala, Hypnotech, Astro Travellers, Franky Smart Band, Royalston and way too many more to list (see the bottom of this story for the full drop).

“There won’t be anywhere else in the country you can experience the legendary New York turntable wizard DJ Total Eclipse on the same stage as UK drum & bass pioneer Ed Solo, international beatbox superstar Tom Thum, Canberra techno producer Doppel and Brisbane jazz outfit Franky Smart Band all in the one place,” Manifest Co-Director Renan Inal says.

Of course, it doesn’t end there. Manifest isn’t just about the music. This year, they’ve assembled their biggest ever arts, lifestyle and workshop programme. Whether it’s browsing more than 30 market stalls, indulging in gourmet food and local produce, watching high-flying aerial artists in action or listening to a talk on permaculture and sustainability in the Conscious Nest, there are plenty of chances to learn, create, nourish and grow at Manifest 2016.

“We’re super proud of what we’ve been able to put together this year. It’s a great mix of amazing music, vibrant arts, yummy food and educational workshop and activities,” Renan says.

In keeping with Manifest's sustainable ethos, they’re also doing their bit for the environment through the Re-Veg initiative (planting one native Australian seedling for every ticket sold).
