As she gears up for the release of her new album 'Light Hit My Face Like A Straight Right' next month, Mallrat has added a trio of Australian shows to her schedule.
Set for the first week of April, landing in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, Mallrat and her band will perform material from the new project including triple j favourites 'Hocus Pocus' and 'Ray of Light', the moving 'Horses' together with her latest single 'Pavement' ("This is one of my favourite songs of all time," shares Mallrat). With the supports acts including daine, Denim and Prophecy Girl, Mallrat fans can also expect the two-time ARIA Awards nominated artist with a million Spotify monthly listeners to also perform her string of hits live.
Mallrat's new album arrives born from a world of magical realism in Australian suburbia. With an ounce of influence from her time growing up in Brisbane, Grace Shaw aka Mallrat seeks out (real or imaginary) magic in the otherwise ugly and everyday, as a means to understand the people and world around her.
"I love the idea you can let your fate be decided by rays of light," she shares.
Tickets on sale from 9am AEDT on 24 January.
