New York City's experimental black metal band Liturgy will make their Australian live debut this year.
Fronted by singer-guitarist Haela Ravenna Hunt-Hendrix, and scheduled to perform at Arctangent and Primavera Sound festivals in 2023, the band will play exclusive shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in November."Very exited to announce our first ever dates in Australia, three show with support from esteemed colleague Uboa. Can't wait!"
A self-described 'transcendental black metal' group, Liturgy have released six studio albums since their formation in 2005, the band continually pushing the progressive and experimental dimensions.
Their most recent release, 2023's '93696' is 'an intricate and indulgent splattering of complex riffs, chaotic percussive fury, glitched-out electronic peaks, and atypical orchestration, all intelligently perforated by Haela's soul-piercing shrieks'.
Melbourne's metal-edged noise musician Uboa supports at all three shows.
