Little Bigsound 2014: Big Line-up Announce

Bigsound panelists
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

The fourth annual Little BIGSOUND music forum has announced its line-up today, providing young people aged 15-25 with a list of top industry speakers and new live acts to provide them with information on careers in the music business.

As well as traditional industry jobs, the event will also include ARIA Award-winning producer Magoo, Double J online producer Dan Condon, creative agency The Arcade Creative’s Holly Gazal and music lawyers Jackson Walkden-Brown and Darren Sanicki, showing the many and varied options for those looking for a career in the modern music industry. The event will also provide celebration of live music over lunch from Sahara Beck, Youth Allowance and The Missing.

Since its inaugural year in 2011, Little BIGSOUND continues to attract creative youth who participate in panels and breakout sessions covering everything from band management to live sound and much more. The event aims to build skills and provide information specifically targeted to kick-start their careers in the music industry.

“We are so excited to be unveiling our first list of guests for this year’s Little BIGSOUND,” said year 12 student and Youth Music Industries event organiser Matheson Yates. “Music is such an important part of our lives and Little BIGSOUND has given us a chance to work in the area we love. Being able to organize an event that opens a window into such an exciting industry has been amazing.”

This year’s event welcomes artists including triple j favourites Jeremy Neale and Khal Wallis (The Medics) to discuss their careers alongside managers, event directors, promoters, festivals and media.

Little BIGSOUND runs on July 21 from 8:00am to 3:00pm and is facilitated within The Edge, Southbank, one of the most popular upcoming venues specifically run for youth.
