After a six-year wait, Lisa Mitchell will release her long-awaited fourth studio album, titled 'A Place To Fall Apart', this autumn accompanied by a 13-date tour that runs from May to July this year.

'I Believe In Kindness' is the second single from the new record that has landed today; an atmospheric, moody rhythm that crackles and hisses with a brooding intensity, and cascading instrumentation combine to create a psych-rock maelstrom of swirling indie folk meets dark pop, Mitchell's voice acting like an enchanted lighthouse offering a velvety solace.

"I wrote 'I Believe In Kindness' the day before the Global Climate Strike (2019) in Melbourne/ Naarm," begins Lisa.

"Everyone was going. My body hummed with a feeling that I couldn't quite put my finger on. . . The next day 100,000 people gathered, along with millions all over the world, in devotion to our Mother (earth).

"Elders spoke alongside school students and activists from many industries as they shared our needs for a safe future. It is terrifying that our governments' policies are nowhere near good enough to protect our futures and care for Country.

"And yet, the feeling of being together that day still fuels my faith in humanity and reminds me of the power of a feeling."

Lisa has collaborated with multi award-winning Australian photographer and visual narrative director Ilsa Wynne-Hoelscher Kidd to create a film clip for 'I Believe In Kindness' that was shot on 16mm film.

"On first listening, I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming connection to nature and our unified human experience, where hope stands a chance," Ilsa says, about the creative connection to 'I Believe In Kindness'.

"The images that ran through my mind were that of a nostalgic metaphor with a rough but organic balanced look at life.

"The analogue format was utilised to achieve a soft truthfulness within the visuals that aim to offer audiences a mosaic dream state to facilitate a drifting into their own meaning within the songwriting.

"To me, Lisa and her innate poetry felt native within this conceptual world we created for this song."

With 'A Place To Fall Apart' to be released digitally and on vinyl, Lisa will tour the country with headline shows in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide plus a host of regional stops including Ballarat, Gippsland, Castlemaine, Byron Bay, Sunshine Coast and Cairns.
