Lime Cordiale are the latest band forced to postpone their 2021 tour (scheduled for next month) to next year, the COVID troll making it impossible for national travel presently.
Oli, Louis and their live band will now visit Fremantle, Melbourne, Sydney (a new show has been added to the itinerary) and Brisbane April-May 2022.While the lads won't be performing on stages till next year, Lime Cordiale have softened the bad news of the tour postponement by releasing a new single featuring English actor-musician Idris Elba.
'Apple Crumble' is a fun ride through jaunty indie pop that Lime Cordiale and Elba recorded in Sydney earlier this year when the 'Luther', 'The Wire' and 'The Suicide Squad' star was in town filming a movie.
"We've been catapulted into new territory with Idris and this has inevitably influenced the future of Lime Cordiale," Oli says.
"He gave us permission to break out of our genre and it's going to be interesting where this takes us with new music."
"I wanted to collaborate," Idris adds. "We agreed about the vibe and the song was there.
"They were really open to ideas; it was an opportunity for me to write songs I normally wouldn't write. Ultimately, this is a step into a new universe musically for me."
Lime Cordiale and Idris have recorded a mini album, 'Cordi Elba', which will be available in January 2022.
