One of the hardest partying DJs in the US, Lil Jon, is making his way to Australia in October for his first DJ set tour down under.
He will hit seven cities in a whirlwind ten-day trip. After rising to prominence a decade ago as the face of the crunk movement, Lil Jon has been embraced by an entire new generation of fans as the EDM juggernaut rolls across the US. As a man who has consistently blurred the lines between rap and dance music, and one with a penchant for extreme partying, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that he has been heralded as a legend amongst the relatively young EDM scene.
His 2013 collaboration with DJ Snake, ‘Turn Down for What’, has grown to become an anthem in the global dance world and the phrase itself is now part of partying lexicon. It has sold almost 3,000,000 copies in the US alone. His new single, ‘Bend Ova’ (feat. Tyga), was released this week and already sits inside the top 50 on the Australian iTunes chart.
Lil Jon’s DJ sets have become a staple in the massive EDM club circuit in the US, where he regularly headlines the larger-than-life super-clubs at the heart of the scene. He is a resident at two of the most iconic venues in the burgeoning culture, Vegas’ Surrender Nightclub and Miami’s infamous LIV.
