New Year's Day 2013 saw an enthusiastic crowd descend upon the majestic surrounds of Werribee Mansion to take a chance on an unknown boutique festival — and party like they were Jay freakin' Gatsby while they were at it.
Delivering some of the world's finest electronic performers (the line-up included Flying Lotus, Gaslamp Killer, DJ Marky, Kerri Chandler, Space Dimension Controller, Theo Parrish and more), cutting edge visual artists and an abundance of culinary delights, Let Them Eat Cake — a secluded garden party with secrets lurking around every corner — made quite an impression in its inaugural year.
It's about to do it again. Let Them Eat Cake will return to Werribee Mansion this coming New Years Day; once again set in ten hectares of imperial parkland just a stone's throw from the CBD, it promises to entice you into a halcyon world far from the servitude of the city.
Let Them Eat Cake 2014 will feature another spectacular line-up of music, with the first round announcement expected in September. It'll also feature Melbourne's most acclaimed artisinal cuisine, cake and secret cocktail bars; expanding on last year's arts and culinary programs for an even more immersive experience.
Frock up, turn on and tune out for a plush journey into the sublime, cloaked in whispers of lascivious luxury, at Werribee Park on January 1.
