Canadian indie folk artist Leif Vollebekk returns to Australia in 2025.
The singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, best know for his hits 'Long Blue Light', 'Hot Tears' and 'Elegy', will headline concerts in Perth, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne in May.This run of shows will be promoting Vollebekk's 2024 album 'Revelation' that features the songs 'Moondog' and 'Southern Star'. "Australia, we're coming back!
"The Revelation tour continues in May. I can't wait to be back and see old friends and new faces. I can't wait to drink your coffee, see your stars and sneak in a trip to Tasmania. There's lots of Australia on this new record including a couple sweet guitars from Clingan Guitar Tone 🇦🇺."
On Valentine's Day, Leif released the beautiful cover of Kendrick Lamar's 2017 song 'Love'. "Kendrick Lamar's words are bold, revealing, heartbreaking, earth-shaking, intricate and multilayered poetic origami," posted Vollebekk.
"His lyrics unfold like orchid petals then cut you to the bone. It's no wonder both Dylan and Kendrick have Pulitzers. But where's his Nobel? I've covered his song 'Love' at shows a few times and people have asked if I'd ever release it.
"Well, here it is. This live take was recorded about ten minutes before recording a song of mine called 'Transatlantic Flight'. I thought of it as a way to check the microphones and loosen up. I couldn’t think of a song I’d rather play."
Tickets on sale from 11am (local time) on 28 February.
