Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Perth hard rock band Legs Electric will embark on an Australian tour this July in support of their new EP, 'Two Sides'.

After the release of their debut self-titled EP in 2014, 'Two Sides' is the band's second EP that encapsulates the ferocity and energy of Legs Electric's live shows. The EP features the single 'Dark Paradise'; a track that sums up the huge vocals, drums and guitars of Legs Electric's sound.

The band's debut single and fan favourite 'I Wanna Riot' also earns a spot on the new release. “We couldn’t be happier with the product we're putting out,” Legs Electric's drummer, Kylie Soanes says.

“'Dark Paradise', 'Shine Right Through' and 'Kingdom' were written by the old [band] line-up, but recorded by the new line-up so that's why it's called 'Two Sides' - the creation of the band and how the band is forged now.

“It's maximum rock & roll,” Kylie says. “We love that classic rock sound so [the EP is] four to the floor rock & roll with those classic Fleetwood Mac harmonies.”

Legs Electric will set off on their Australian tour mid July, performing in Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Wollongong. “We haven’t been over east for about a year because we have been getting this record out and getting this line-up together.

“It's so hard to find musicians that will fit with your band and are at your level. Getting the band together was our biggest task. [Now that we're] getting this record out and going over east we couldn’t be happier. We are going back to Wollongong, which we love. We love the country towns,” Kylie says.

“We have heaps of fans over there, so they are all excited. It's just so fun hitting [it] off the audience, giving it all we have and showing them rock isn’t dead. We give them 150 per cent onstage. Maximum rock and roll is what we say and that's what we give.

“It can get a bit out of control at times. Everyone's super loud and having a good time and we love interacting with the audience. Sometimes we throw in some classic rock covers to really get them in the mood. It's just fun.”

Kylie explains there are a few songs in particular that she is eager to play live. “'Shrine Right Through' because I kind of wrote that.

“I'm really looking forward to playing that again. It's such kick-ass kind of groove.”

'Two Sides' is released 13 July.
