Laneway 2017 Reveal Bumper Lineup Headlined By Tame Impala

Nick Murphy
Solar-powered journalist with a love for live reviews and the challenge of describing sounds with words. Always: cooking, often: thrifting, sometimes: playing the piano, rarely: social, never: late. Living abroad in Japan.

After battling the cluster of screaming fans at Violent Soho, chiming along with DMAs, and losing ourselves to the mesmerising vocals of Beach House at the 2016 event, Laneway permanently marked our radar of festival line-ups to look out for in the future.

Chet Faker-turned Nick Murphy revealed his place atop the festival bill prior the official announcement today, and from there, it was only to be expected an equally epic list of artists would follow suit.

As per tradition, Laneway boasts a bold selection of contemporary icons plus emerging game changers, supporting the best new local and international talent while welcoming back old festival favourites. Beloved Australian artists Tame Impala lead the pack with an exclusive, Laneway-only performance, undoubtably delighting fans after briefly leaving the local music scene.

They will be joined by a host of established and up-and-coming legends, including Gang Of Youths, Tash Sultana and A.B Original. A strong international roster complements the local contingent, including Jagwar Ma, Car Seat Headrest, Floating Points (exclusive to Laneway), Glass Animals, The Julie Ruin and Tourist.

The event is set to make a splash at locations in Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, Fremantle and Sydney, promising another tightly-curated festival experience, from the food and drink, to the beautiful surrounds. Over the past three years, Laneway has slowly transitioned from a rising boutique event turned totally mainstream: although we believe the 2017 line-up has truly cemented its place among the top music festivals in Australia.
