As Victoria's COVID lockdown continues, regional music festival Land Of Plenty has decided the only way the show can go ahead is to push back to a 2022 date.
To be staged at Shepparton Showgrounds on 9 April, Land Of Plenty will be headlined by Brisbane indie royalty Ball Park Music and rising phenomenon and Crocs collaborator G Flip (whose current single is the excellent 'Waiting Game').The festival will also welcome Aussie OG rapper Drapht (who's just dropped his newest studio album 'Shadows And Shinings'), punk-rock legends Bodyjar, and Indigenous rapper Birdz (whose current joint is the South American flavoured 'They Don't Know').
There'll also be plenty of youthful exuberance onstage with Unearthed High winners Teenage Joans and rapidly rising new talent Matilida Pearl and Vince the Kid.
Land Of Plenty will also host a special presentation centred around themes of 'woka' (country), with BAIYIYA GARRA presented by STILL HERE to be curated by respected Yorta Yorta artist DRMNGNOW offering an Indigenous platform for emerging Yorta Yorta and other First Peoples special guest artists.
A local act will also have the opportunity to play Land Of Plenty, with the launch of the Pick The Crop competition. Bands and artists from the Greater Shepparton region are invited to apply, with the winner getting to perform on the Land Of Plenty main stage.
Originally on the 2021 line-up, both Thundamentals and Thornhill are not able to attend the 2022 date.
"For one huge day and night of live music and festival celebrations, Land Of Plenty will bring some of Australia's biggest and best artists to Shepparton, as well as rides, food trucks, art installations and heaps more," the event organisers says.
All tickets already purchased remain valid for the new date; those who can no longer attend should contact their ticketing provider for a refund. Tickets to the 2022 event are on sale.
