Kylie Minogue has finally spoken about her efforts to block Kylie Jenner trademarking the word 'Kylie'.
In an interview with Rolling Stone [U.S.] last week the Aussie superstar graciously played down the now-resolved 2016 application by Jenner to own the Kylie moniker. This is notwithstanding Minogue's own legal team labelling the 20-year-old newcomer as "a secondary reality television personality who appeared on the television series 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' as a supporting character'.
"Jenner is just a secondary reality television personality ... a supporting character"
In relation to the character burn, Minogue said it was unfortunate her lawyers had chosen that language. "Can you imagine me saying that?"The other Kylie. Famous for something... perhaps in the future. Source: Facebook
Meanwhile her same team promoted the original Kylie as an 'internationally renowned performing artist, humanitarian, and breast cancer activist' who has been known globally as simply Kylie for as long as Jenner has been alive. The Minogue camp was concerned the icon's brand would be damaged.
The magazine reported the opposition to the application was dropped last month leading to speculation the parties had reached agreement with the real Kylie saying 'it was all wrapped up with no need to go to court'.
