UK rapper and storyteller Kofi Stone will tour Australia for the very first time in 2025.
Fresh from sell-out shows in Europe and the UK, the R&B, soul, hip hop, rap artist will headline intimate gigs in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne next May. "Yooo, to my people down under I'm coming!"Known for his introspective lyrics and genre-blurring beats, Stone has built a solid reputation, the Birmingham native capturing attentive listeners with such tunes as 'Talk About Us', 'Busker Flow', 'It's Ok To Cry', 'Stories In Pyjamas' and 'Chameleon'.
Five years removed from his debut album, in October Stone dropped his sophomore record; titled 'A Man After God's Own Heart' the album explores themes of love, faith, family, and race, weaving a narrative that reveals both struggle and resilience; and includes a collab with the late British writer, dub poet Benjamin Zephaniah on 'May Sound Crazy'.
"A piece of my heart, a peace of my mind, a piece of my soul," Kofi posted about the new record. "'A Man After God's Own Heart' my second project is here. Hadn't cried for a while but I did this morning; was overwhelmed by an array of emotions.
"The journey to get here was a tough one. All glory to God, I learnt patience is a virtue during this process. I'm happy I didn't give up on myself even though I wanted to several times. Me and my cousin and manager @sena_dzotsi faced a lot of challenges during this process but we're happy to come out the other side.
"Thank you all for your patience, this one means a lot to me, I hope it speaks to you. The hard work begins now, I'm gonna need everyone to spread the word! Cause it's just me, Sena and you guys, no big team behind us. Just a man tryna do something with meaning.
"Love to everyone that made this possible. The producers, guest vocalists and of course Benjamin Zephaniah – rest in power. Enough said, go have a listen."
Tickets on sale from 10am AEDT on 5 December.
