Melbourne four-piece Kingswood are starting 2020 on the right note with a new single, a new album and a massive Australian tour.
After the release of singles 'Say You Remember' and 'You Make It So easy' in 2019, Kingswood drop their latest single 'Bittersweet', the latest to be taken from their long-awaited third album 'Juveniles'. “‘Bittersweet’ was originally inspired by the love story of one of our dearest friends," lead vocalist Fergus Linacre says."Without going into detail, a medical issue put a question mark over their future, but without blinking they forged on together, overcome with love and companionship. The opening line, 'There’s no love on this earth that isn’t bittersweet', is a truth that we should all remember as we paddle through the waves."
Kingswood’s new music came to fruition across multiple writing and recording sessions across the US, UK and Europe.
Working with frequent collaborator and producer Eddie Spear in their second home of Nashville, Lead guitarist Alex Laska says the record was an emotional one to solidify.
“The album we’re finally presenting was an incredibly long and winding investigation through many different facets and avenues; almost a rediscovery, if you will, of who we are and what we find inspiring," he explains.
As the new year opens before us, so too does a new chapter for Kingswood as they set about on their self-prescribed task of saving rock and roll.
With new music, Kingswood are set for a massive 20-plus date tour around the country from March through to June.
'Bittersweet' is out today. 'Juveniles' is due 13 March. Tickets to the tour go ons ale from 22 January (11am local). Click here for more details.
