Irish indie folk-rock band Kingfishr will make their Australian live debut in 2026.
Only forming in 2022, the Limerick natives – Eddie Keogh (vocals, guitar), Eoghan 'McGoo' McGrath (banjo), and Eoin 'Fitz' Fitzgibbon (guitar) – have already shared stages with Bruce Springsteen, James Bay, Dermot Kennedy, and George Ezra.
With their debut album, 'Halcyon', landing last month (featuring their breakthrough single 'Killeagh' as well as 'Eyes Don't Lie' and 'Flowers-Fire'), Kingfishr have already added festival appearances at Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds, Electric Picnic, and Isle of Wight to their resume.
Powered by rousing hooks that spark mass sing-alongs at sold-out shows across Europe, North America, and Ireland, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Perth get their chance to hear Kingfishr (including live favourites 'Caroline' and 'Shot In The Dark') next March. Built upon their traditional Irish roots and the accessibility of their broader folk-pop, indie-pop soundscape, 'Halcyon' is the group's work the last three years condensed into album form.
"'Halcyon' is the culmination of three year's work, though most of the time it hasn't felt like it," the band says. "We grew up in different parts of rural Ireland though the band itself was born on a dairy farm in Tipperary.
"The songs were written in a small kitchen where generations of farmers became singers and storytellers when the work was done.
"The name 'Halcyon' is a nod to the landscape and heritage that has moulded our music, even though the songs don't all come from a happy or peaceful place. We're so proud of all of this. Thank you for being a part of it. On and up!"
