As they near the release of their sophomore album 'For The Dreams' next month, Australian surf-garage rockers King Stingray will tour nationally next year.
The 'Milkumana', 'Get Me Out' and 'Camp Dog' hitmakers will headline concerts in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Fremantle March-April."Bathala announcement! 📣📣📣 To celebrate the release of our new album, which comes out Nov 8th, we will be touring this beautiful country in March/ April 2025! With supports from our mega rad friends Beddy Rays and The Belair Lip Bombs.
"We're so excited for our album tour and absolutely frothing to play in those big beautiful venues. It's our favourite thing to do and we're so unbelievably keen to play some new songs as well as some classics.
"We are really going next level on this one. It'll be our biggest tour ever and it'll be a very special moment that you won't wanna miss. Rock on and come join the party wave."
Currently nominated for Best Australian Live Act at 2024 ARIA Awards (having won the Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist award at the 2022 ARIAs) after winning three 2023 AIR Awards (including Independent Album Of The Year), the songwriting of 'For The Dreams' follows the band's journey from what guitarist/ producer Roy Kellaway describes as "a pretty sleepy, rural lifestyle in the bush" to a band exploding at a national level leading to international adventures.
However, don't expect a weary account of the rigours of life on the road – as with their debut, 'For The Dreams' is a joyous celebration of life and the planet on which we live that oozes optimism from its every note. "We wanted a lot of sing-along moments. . . We were thinking a little bit more about getting everyone in on the party."
Where some of the songs on their debut album dated as far back as high school in the Northern Territory, where the band began, 'For The Dreams' is a snapshot of the past few years in the members' lives.
The band recently teased 'For The Dreams' with the single 'Cat 5 (Cyclone)' that followed earlier 2024 single and album track 'Best Bits'. On Thursday, King Stingray will rel;ease another track from 'For The Dreams' titled 'Light Up The Path'.
Tickets on sale from 10am (local time) on 11 October.
