Some two years since their last Australian headline shows, genre-fluid DIY superstars King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard will return home late 2025.
In keeping with King Gizzard tradition, these shows will be split into two very distinct, standalone concerts: a mind-bending orchestra show with a 29-piece ensemble; as well as a face-melting rock & roll gig experience.Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne will get to experience both sets this December. The orchestral shows will see the Gizz joined by acclaimed conductor and music director Chad Kelly, with Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Victoria performing in the respective cities.
The more tradition shows will see the band perform from across their 27-album catalogue, roaming between psych, rock, metal, blues, boogie, folk and world music tones with Party Dozen supporting in Sydney and Brisbane, with Barkaa opening in Melbourne.
King Gizzard are also prepping the release of their new studio album (and incredibly their 27th record to date) 'Phantom Island' that's due 13 June via the band's own label p(doom) records.
Two years in the making, the record will feature an orchestra; the band have already released the singles 'Grow Wings And Fly', 'Deadstick' and 'Phantom Island'. "HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!!!!
