Kerala Dust 2023 Australia Tour

Kerala Dust
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Blues-Americana electronic act Kerala Dust will play their debut shows in Sydney and Melbourne this November.

Formed in London in 2016 and now based between Berlin and Zurich, Kerala Dust is a four-piece band including Edmund Kenny on vocals and electronics, Tim Gardner on keys, Lawrence Howarth on guitar, and Pascal Karier on drums.

The group grew up to the sounds of acts like CAN, The Velvet Underground and Tom Waits, while spending blurry mornings in London nightclubs. They combine influences of psychedelic rock, blues and techno into one.

Kerala Dust released their debut album ‘Light, West’ in 2020, while diving into their new Berlin base and letting its deep, complicated history and landscapes influence their next move.

Their next move was the latest album – ‘Violet Drive’. ‘Violet Drive’ is torn between the past and future, and is heavily affected by its surroundings. It was recorded over two weeks in a studio in the Alps, and built from the drums up.

As for the group’s live show, they’ve honed a somewhat improvised one over the years, setting the stage for a completely unique, and always fluid, performance. They’ve played to and transcended audiences across the globe with their genre-blending, experimental nature. . . And now it’s time for them to hit our shores.

Tickets are on sale now.
